Area Manager - Motors

ABB is seeking an Area Manager to coordinate production activities. This position will report to the Plant Production Manager. Responsible for managing Operations in accordance with plant's budget expectation relative to cost, quality and service. Responsible for having and maintaining expertise in modern quality systems, manufacturing, maintenance and assembly techniques. Promote, develop and implement measures to achieve cost-effective improvements in operations, increase customer satisfaction, and ensure compliance with policies and regulations. Direct Reports may consist of Manufacturing Supervisors and Indirect reports of Hourly Team Members. Tasks: Motivate, direct, coach and develop a diverse, high performing team to meet established goals and build organizational capability. Effectively translate plant goals and objectives to all levels of the organization ensuring alignment on relevant performance data. Ensure compliance with the company's safety programs and standards and foster an environment that supports an engaged safety culture. Lead operation efforts to focus on quality and continuous process improvement. Lead the production team by providing technical guidance and team management. Ensure production team is properly staffed to meet requirements. Recognize potential problems with the production schedule and initiate measures to eliminate or reduce their impact. Ensure that procedures and practices being developed are consistently applied and practiced. Evaluate the production process for productivity improvements and sustain a consistent, long-term vision through continuous process improvement. Ensure compliance with the company's quality standards and business requirements. Develop and implement measures to improve operations and develop a culture that embraces operational excellence. Help implement best practices required to ensure efficient production flow and adopt and share best ideas inside and outside the company. Help define and implement short-, medium-, and long-term actions to improve safety, operating efficiency, quality, and productivity throughout the entire value chain. Improve operating costs in a safe working environment Requirements: BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma or GED AND 8 years' manufacturing experience in a leadership role. OR Associates degree AND 6 years' manufacturing experience in a leadership role. OR Bachelor's Degree AND 4 years' manufacturing experience in a leadership role. A Master's Degree in required field = Credit given for 2 years of work experience. A PhD/Doctorate in required field = Credit given for 3 years of work experience PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Industrial Management. Basic management skills, understanding of financial reports 5+ years' high volume manufacturing experience Formulation and control of operating budgets Problem solving techniques Working knowledge of MRP II systems; EPA and OSHA regulations Exposure to modern manufacturing and quality technologies Lean/Six Sigma skills or certifications Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US Publication ID:US66852411_E1

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
